A paper letter can't say your child's name out loud

Santa can. Watch a 30-second example โ€” he greets your child by name, city and their proudest moment of the year.

How to print them so they look real

Every design is a print-ready A4 PDF with no watermark, and the whole pack of twelve plus the Nice List certificate comes down in one file. They print fine on ordinary paper, but if you have anything slightly heavier โ€” around 120 gsm โ€” use that instead. The weight is what makes a letter feel like it arrived from somewhere rather than came out of a printer.

Print in colour and at full size. The "fit to page" setting shrinks the border and leaves a white margin that gives the whole thing away. The parchment design looks best on cream paper if you have any, and the classic one is the safest choice if you plan to write on it by hand.

The handwriting is what sells it. Fill in the child's name, one thing they did this year and the wish in pen rather than typing them โ€” a letter in real handwriting is the one that ends up kept in a drawer for years. Then leave it somewhere it has to be found: under the tree, inside an advent calendar, or delivered overnight by the elf.
